THE MAIN PROBLEM OF UNEMPLOYMENT
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has submitted a report stating that Spain will maintain high levels of unemployment for longer than other economies due to the sharp increase among long-term unemployed in our country.
Countries that have this problem are Canada, Denmark, Hungary, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, UK, USA and Spain, in all cases the percentage of long-term unemployed has increased significantly during the crisis.
The long-term unemployed are those who lost their jobs over a year and their number at the end of 2010, was 2.04 million people, 43.6% of all unemployed who had Spain.
This development is particularly concerned because, with those aged 45 years and under 25, the long-term unemployed are part of one of the groups that find it most difficult to re-enter the labor market.
